“This symbolizes to the college and the community that our voice and everything we do here at Amarillo College is on track to keep pace with our plans on many different levels…I think gaining national recognition defines AC’s vice president of communications and marketing,” said Kevin Paul, vice president of communications and marketing at AC. Our mind is that we’re on the right track, we have a talented group of people here at AC.

The college has won two of the highest awards with its comprehensive digital marketing program, and social media content campaign that has received gold awards. The department also received three Silver Awards for its digital video “Success Is A Future As Unique As You”; The digital publication “Teaching for Transformation 2021”; Outstanding work in blogging.

“It’s hard because we have a very small group of people doing all of this here. We have our media director, videographer, writer and graphic artist, so there are only four people working on this, and to be able to campaign over the course of a year, it’s a big deal,” Paul said. Very formidable.”

The competition featured over 1,000 entries from colleges, universities, and high schools from all over the country.

All EDM applications, submitted last year in the holiday season, were judged by a national panel of higher education professionals in marketing and advertising, as well as the EDM editorial board. The awards are endorsed by the Higher Education Marketing Report and recognize the best digital content, electronic communications, mobile media, social media and educational websites. AC learned of the award winnings on January 19th.

“It has definitely been a tough year to get anything done for people all over the world and the fact that our team came together to create such touching and beautiful pieces that spoke to students in their time of need, I think I would really like it,” said Sadie Newsom, AC Media Director.

“We are constantly striving to meet our students wherever they are and spread messages relevant to their lives. I think we did that in the past year, and I think we will continue to do so as we go forward, and that is one of the things that sets us apart from other institutions,” Newsom added.
