Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce Education Committee shares info

After each monthly members’ Breakfast Meeting of the Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce (AMC), educators from their Dade Partner schools and businesses interested in working with the educational community meet to share updates and projects.

The AMC Education Committee met after the January Breakfast Meeting held in the beautiful Hilton Aventura Hotel and heard Principal Geoff McKee, Don Soffer Aventura High School, explaining how students who take certain courses will graduate with a guaranteed scholarship to a Florida State school. Stephanie Concepcion Rohem Barazi from ACES K-8 (Aventura City of Excellence School) spoke about their busy schedule of events, including Teacher Appreciation Week March 14 – 18th. Gaston Bogomolni from TAL Community Mental Health Center offered free presentations to school staff and parents on how to handle children experiencing problems. Veronica Martin from North Miami Beach Sr.High expressed her appreciation to everyone in the AMC, especially AMC volunteer Marge Rosenblatt, who has been not only donating many used clothing and household items to their free community store, but spreading the word to other AMC members like Stefan Ilies, Let’s Dance Miami, who held a dance party and asked everyone to donate items for the store. The Hon. Gladys Mezrahi invited teens to her “Loving Me More Project” part of her “Power of the Heels Foundation”. The first “Power of the Heels Club” was recently started at Don Soffer Aventura High School.
