The Union Budget 2022-2023 will be presented by the Minister of Finance and Union Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, on February 1, 2022, in dematerialized form.
To mark the final stage of the Union budget making process, sweets were provided to core staff due to ‘lockdown’ at their place of work instead of the Halwa ceremony due to pandemic concerns and ongoing health security.
To maintain budget secrecy, there is a “lock-in” of officials involved in budget-making. Budget Press, located inside the northern block, houses all officials from the period leading up to the presentation of the Union budget.
These officers and staff will only get in touch with their relatives after the presentation of the budget by the Union Finance Minister in Parliament.
The Union budget 2022-2023 will be available on the mobile application after its presentation to Parliament. The app will provide quick and easy access to EU budget information to all stakeholders.
It is a bilingual app (English and Hindi) and is available on Android and iOS platforms.
