WarnerMedia’s HBO Max is on the hunt for a director of brand marketing in Indonesia. According to the job description, the appointed individual will drive the idea of high-profile innovative and culturally impactful brand and content marketing campaigns that align with both show-specific branding as well as driving engagement with new and existing fans.
This director-level role will manage a marketing team to carry out country-specific strategies and needs to be an experienced professional as well as an inspiring and creative leader who can bring sharp, sophisticated thinking to the team.
The individual will need to manage cross-platform, cohesive brand and content marketing campaigns across original and acquired programming to build show and build brand awareness and drive subscriptions and consumption. He or she will also need to collaborate with editorial teams on positioning, campaign strategy and audience retention, as well as consolidate key information into on-brand, visually appealing decks, creative briefs, and presentations.
The director of brand marketing is also expected to ideate and lead impactful HBO Max activations and events in collaboration with the P&E teams to generate show and brand awareness and effectively impact business goals.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in entertainment marketing, ideally within an entertainment company with emphasis on premium/streamer environment or a movie studio. He or she must also have working knowledge of media planning, research, and OTT services.
HBO Max brought on board Jason Monteiro as GM of Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan last month. Based in Singapore, he currently oversees the existing HBO GO streaming service and the eventual launch of HBO Max in the region, building and leading a team of cross-functional executives to maximise the streamer’s success. Last November, the company also beefed up its marketing prowess with Daniel Tan as VP, marketing for Southeast Asia. He is currently responsible for all HBO Max marketing efforts in Southeast Asia to lead the brand and grow subscriptions to the new service.
Meanwhile, WarnerMedia launched its regional hub for Asia (excluding China and Japan) in Singapore last September, which fully integrates WarnerMedia’s business in the region, including Warner Bros., HBO and Turner brands. It will also house HBO Max.
