King & Spalding Adds Corporate Finance Partner in New York

King & Spalding said it hired Sheel Patel as an associate in the firm’s corporate, finance and investment practice group in New York.

Patel, formerly a partner at Jones Day, brings more than a decade of experience in complex trade finance transactions, according to King & Spalding. He has represented private capital providers, financial institutions, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers, among others.

“Its collegial and entrepreneurial culture is what drew me to the company,” Patel said in a statement. “His depth and experience in all types of complex financing transactions and restructuring matters are very synergistic for my practice.”

Patel received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University and his JD from Hofstra University. He is the second addition to the practice group this month, after structured finance associate David Ridenour joined the Washington office.
