Transmit Security is bringing in a new chief marketing officer. Chris Beck joins the company after a stint at Tanium, where he held the same position.
As a CMO, Pick will be required to develop and operate a new international marketing strategy to advance the company’s growth efforts worldwide. It is expected to help define a new category of transmission security cybersecurity as part of this process. In this regard, Transmit noted that Pick achieved similar feats at Tanium and Apptio, where he served as Marketing Director for nine years before moving to Tanium. At Apptio, Pick redefined the Technology Business Management category and made Apptio an industry leader.
The transmission itself predicts a period of significant growth. The company raised $543 million in a record Series A funding round in June, and is now providing identity coverage to 115 million people in sectors such as finance and retail. Transmit holds multiple patents for its biometric authentication technology.
“This year we are taking very important steps as a company, as we work to disrupt the status quo that has dominated a critical area of technology for decades,” said Transmit President and Co-Founder Rakesh Lonkar. “Chris has mixed experience tackling huge and intractable problems in technology, and his marketing strategies are innovative and impactful for large organizations.”
“Passwords are the weakest link in online services,” Beck added. “It is time for the entire industry to move beyond the password issue, and join Transmit Security because they have the team, the vision, and the tremendous resources to do so.”
The announcement comes just one month after Transmit appointed Chris Cadaras as its new managing director of revenue. Transmit previously stated that customers would abandon sites if the sign-in process took too long, and released a passwordless BindID solution to help fix this issue. BindID offers support for face and fingerprint recognition.
